Simple Sewing - Pot Holders

>> 28.4.09

LinkA few months ago while searching the endlessly stunning options of Japanese fabric on Etsy, I came across this Green Tea (Matcha) print from A little Goodness (who has sadly since closed her shop). I instantly knew it was meant for Sibling J, who despite his early years of not being the poster child of healthy eating (we are talking coca cola for breakfast), is now one of the healthiest gentlemen I know and is an avid Matcha drinker.

As it goes, the fabric arrived, it was admired and dreamed about, and then placed carefully on my fabric shelf to be forgotten until last Thursday, when Sibling J's birthday was scheduled to arrive just a few days later.
A quick flip through Lotta Simple Sewing, and some truly simple sewing later, these pot holders were born! A three patch quilted front and heavy wool back hugs in as many layers of batting I could get, making these hopefully somewhat heat resistant or at the least perfect for resting a big pot of Matcha Tea!
