Getting our Type On!

We are all things typing these days - from the arrival of my stunning Christmas gift last week, to what turned out to be a marathon typing evening last Friday! On hands were on fire...
Our dear Friends and hugely successful indie-punk rockers have just finished recording their new album and decided to have the liner notes typed out - stunning!
For those of you lost in the world of MP3s and downloading - the liner notes are the little piece of art included with every CD that lists the song lyrics and offers praise to all those who put their time into making the album what it is.There were a few challenges we were faced with that evening, forcing us to bake cupcakes at 11:30pm to keep us going (decorated with my brand new kit from Bake it Pretty);

First, for someone who sends out approximately 80-100 emails a day at work, switching to the keyboard of a typewriter, using only 2 fingers and averaging approximately 1 letter per second (so as not to get the keys stuck on eachother) nearly killed me. My hands are still sore.

Second, their ain't no backspace on a typewriter and these notes had to be flawless. Therefore, a mistake mid-line meant re-starting, crying and eating another cupcake!

Third, musicians don't write lyrics with proper sentence structure or fine grammatical form in mind, so our editing ended up looking like a box of commas and colons threw up on the songs.
Solution: remove all punctuation. period.

All challenges aside, the album should be awesome and I will be sure to make it a Soundtrack to Monday Feature, liner notes and all.
